The greatest need for volunteers is be-friending. There are various ways of volunteering as a be-friender.
One way is to help people in their own homes. Jewish people living alone really need your help! Some people have no relatives to support them through the long lonely days. Even as little as one hour can really make a difference to someone. Helping with shopping and helping out generally would be a great help to someone.
Another way is to become a volunteer befriender within a care home run by Nightingale or Jewish Care. They will provide you with training and support as well as job satisfaction.
If you think you would like to do this then please contact Stephen Ison at Nightingale or use the 'contact us' form.
